A Targeted & Non-Invasive Solution
How our injection treatment works.
Standard structural timber injection programme: two years written guarantee on the timber that receives injection under your quoted scope when we sell it as such—typically glycol-borate injection to saturation of named structural members. Integrated timber-floor remedial programmes (sand, treat, refinish, plank replacement, skirtings, subfloor access when quoted) and combined Buildvision construction scopes carry their own warranty language—often distinguishing treated floor planks from concealed structure, with drying and environmental conditions called out. Heat treatment for furniture and movables, whole-structure fumigation, surface-only programmes, and preventative attic barrier sprays follow their own written terms (some services, such as broad attic spray, may carry no warranty by design). We do not warrant timber we did not treat, concealed voids we could not access under the quote, or new introductions from untreated second-hand items. Moisture and leak management may be listed as cooperation for outcomes. Callbacks under the injection warranty are free within eligible scope per your agreement. Commercial and heritage scopes may differ—your paperwork prevails. National hub /pests/wood-borer, treatment methodology /pests/wood-borer/treatment, warranty prose /pests/wood-borer/guarantee.
Verminator offers a professional wood borer injection treatment service that is effective, safe, and highly targeted. This method is ideal for treating infested structural timbers like roof beams, floor joists, and bearers without the need for extensive spraying.
The Process: Precision & Power
- Inspection: Identifying active borer holes and assessing the integrity of the timber.
- Drilling: We drill small, discreet injection holes into the wood at approximately 300mm intervals, to a depth that ensures full penetration.
- Injection: Using a specialized injection gun, we apply a concentrated, glycol-based wood borer treatment directly into the timber. The treatment is injected until the wood is saturated, indicated by seepage from the holes.
- Sealing: The injection holes are then sealed with a suitable sealant, leaving a clean, professional finish.
- Optional finish (when quoted): On exposed beams or joinery, we may specify a protective coating or paint system after injection and sealing—your proposal lists whether this is included.
The wood absorbs the treatment, which kills borer larvae and eggs on contact. The product also leaves a long-lasting residual barrier in treated timber. Dead wood borers may emerge from the wood in the days following the treatment; this is a normal sign that the treatment is working.
No-Guarantee Spray Service for Attics
Please note that while we can provide a preventative broad-spectrum barrier spray for brandering inside an attic or roof space, this specific service does not carry a guarantee. This is due to the nature of thatched roofs and other materials that are difficult to treat with 100% certainty. The spray acts as a deterrent but cannot be guaranteed in the same way as our injection treatment.

Our Wood Borer Injection Treatment Process
Inspection & Assessment
Our technicians inspect the wood to assess the severity of the infestation and plan the best treatment strategy.
Precision Drilling
Injection holes are drilled into the affected timber at 300mm intervals to the appropriate depth.
High-Pressure Injection
A specialized glycol-borate treatment is injected under pressure until the timber is fully saturated.
Sealing & Finishing
We seal injection holes with a suitable sealant. When quoted on exposed beams or similar, we may add a protective coating or paint so the timber is sealed and presentable—your scope lists what is included.
